Can Aluminum Foil Go in an Air Fryer?

Yes, aluminum foil is safe to use in almost any dry heat cooking environment, including air fryers and ovens. Just be sure to lubricate the food with oil to prevent the food from sticking. The one important exception is the microwave. Microwaves heat the food by bombarding it with microwaves which directly accelerate the molecules in the food. Metals like silverware and even aluminum foil can superheat and ignite in the microwave. A small amount of aluminum foil may not catch fire, but it’s better to avoid putting foil-wrapped foods in the microwave. Paper products like wax paper are a better option for microwave use.
